This year’s American Idol has attracted its highest-ever total of votes for the finale performances from Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.
The pair drew a record 122.4 million votes from viewers ahead of tonight’s finale, which brings the total vote tally in the season to over 730 million.
Over 4.8 billion votes have been cast for the ten seasons of Idol over the years.
